Zachary Daniels are delighted to be partnering exclusively with an established, family-owned luxury retail business to recruit a Head of HR. This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected British brand and take the lead on its people agenda, working directly with the Managing Director, family owners and Executive Leadership Team.
This is a broad role that needs someone who can think strategically but who genuinely enjoys being close to the business and its people. We're looking for a Head of HR who will get out and about, build relationships and understand what is really happening across the organisation rather than lead HR from behind a desk. This role is five days on site at the North West head office, with no home-working element. Visibility is really important to this business, so we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being amongst their people and being part of the day-to-day.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape the people strategy, develop the HR function and play an important role in the next chapter of the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as a trusted adviser to the Managing Director, family owners and Executive Leadership Team
- Developing and delivering the people strategy in line with wider business goals
- Being a highly visible and approachable HR presence across the business
- Spending time with colleagues, building relationships and really understanding the dynamics and nuances of the organisation
- Coaching and challenging leaders around people, performance and organisational matters
- Leading organisational change, restructures and wider transformation projects
- Managing complex ER matters and ensuring the business remains ahead of UK employment legislation
- Taking ownership of recruitment across the business, partnering with hiring managers to attract and recruit the right talent
- Reviewing and improving HR policies, processes and ways of working
- Using people data and insight to identify trends and support decision-making
- Overseeing the full employee lifecycle, from attraction through to exit
- Building and developing the HR team for the future
About you:
You’ll be an experienced Head of HR, senior HR Manager or HR Director who is commercially minded, pragmatic and confident working closely with senior leaders and business owners. You’ll be strategic when you need to be, but equally comfortable rolling your sleeves up and getting involved. You’ll bring strong generalist HR leadership experience, excellent UK employment law knowledge and a track record of managing complex ER and organisational change. Most importantly, you’ll be a relationship builder. Someone approachable and credible who enjoys being visible across a business and understands the importance of really getting to know its people. Experience within retail, luxury, hospitality or another customer-led environment would be particularly relevant.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful, values-led business where relationships really matter and where you’ll have genuine scope to shape the future people agenda. Please note, this role is five days on site at the North West head office with no hybrid or home-working option, alongside travel across the wider business. If you’re looking for a Head of HR role where you can genuinely make your mark, we’d love to hear from you.
