We are partnering with a well-established, fast-paced business to appoint an experienced Employee Relations Manager into a senior, influential role within the People function. This position sits at the heart of the ER service, acting as the escalation point for complex and high-risk cases, while also supporting the wider People Advice team. It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys operating at pace, influencing senior leaders and shaping best practice across a large and diverse organisation.
What you will be doing:
- Acting as the first point of escalation for complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and whistleblowing matters
- Providing expert, commercially focused advice to senior leaders on high-risk and sensitive cases
- Managing your own portfolio of senior and complex cases, including those involving senior managers and group functions
- Supporting business change activity, including redundancy programmes and TUPE processes
- Overseeing ER governance and ensuring policies remain compliant with UK employment law
- Coaching and mentoring People Advisors to build capability and confidence
- Analysing ER data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for proactive intervention
- Supporting the design and delivery of ER training for managers
They will have/be:
- Significant ER experience within a complex, fast-paced organisation
- Experience operating within a centralised ER or advisory model
- Strong practical knowledge of UK employment law
- Confident advising senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making
- Experience handling settlement agreements and tribunal preparation
- Experience supporting organisational change
- A calm, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach
- CIPD Level 5 is desirable
- Experience within a unionised environment would be advantageous
