A growing multi-channel retail business is looking to appoint a Merchandiser to take ownership of planning, forecasting and stock management. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded merchandising professional who enjoys combining analytical thinking with hands-on trading decisions and is looking to play a key role within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
The Opportunity
Working closely with Buying, Product, Finance, Operations and Supply Chain teams, you will be responsible for ensuring the right products are available at the right time, in the right quantities, to maximise sales performance and profitability. You will use data and insight to drive trading decisions, identify opportunities for growth and optimise stock investment across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage category sales, stock and intake plans.
- Own WSSI and Open-to-Buy processes, ensuring plans remain aligned to business objectives.
- Analyse trading performance and recommend actions to maximise sales and margin.
- Deliver accurate forecasting and reforecasting throughout the season.
- Monitor stock health and availability, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Manage intake planning and supplier deliveries to support business requirements.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to influence commercial decisions.
- Lead promotional and markdown strategies to optimise stock turn and profitability.
- Support and develop junior members of the merchandising team.
- Produce insightful reporting and analysis to support strategic planning.
About You
We’re looking for a confident and commercially focused Merchandiser who can operate with a high degree of autonomy and influence. You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Junior Merchandiser or Merchandiser position.
- Experience within an online retailer.
- Strong experience working with WSSI and Open-to-Buy planning.
- Excellent forecasting, stock management and trading skills.
- Advanced Excel and strong systems capability.
- Experience working within a retail, ecommerce or consumer products environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to identify and solve problems independently.
- Experience mentoring, coaching or managing junior team members.
