Zachary Daniels is partnering with a large international consumer business to recruit an Assistant Financial Controller for its Group Finance function in Galway. This is a high-profile opportunity within a successful, multi-entity organisation operating across Ireland, the UK and Europe. The position offers broad exposure to group reporting, statutory accounting, financial controls, systems development and transformation.
The Role
Working as part of the Group Finance team, you will help deliver accurate financial reporting, maintain a strong control environment and support improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the finance lead for ERP enhancements, systems upgrades and digital-transformation projects.
- Partner with Finance, IT and operational stakeholders to improve financial systems, reporting tools and automation.
- Own the Group month-end process, ensuring accurate and timely management reporting.
- Develop and enhance consolidation and intercompany processes across the Group.
- Drive improvements in reporting efficiency, financial processes and data integrity.
- Build strong relationships with Tax, local finance teams and senior stakeholders across the organisation.
- Help strengthen the Group's financial-control environment, identifying risks and implementing practical improvements.
- Support the preparation of consolidated annual financial statements in accordance with FRS 102.
- Oversee subsidiary statutory accounts and ensure accounting policies are applied consistently.
- Support the implementation of new accounting standards and Group policies.
- Assist with the coordination of external audits across multiple subsidiaries and jurisdictions.
- Communicate complex accounting and financial matters clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
About You
We are looking for a technically capable qualified accountant who can operate effectively within a complex, fast-moving organisation. You will ideally have:
- ACA, ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification.
- At least two years' post-qualified experience.
- A background in a leading accountancy practice or a large, multi-entity organisation.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including FRS 102.
- Statutory reporting and external audit experience.
- Experience of consolidations and intercompany accounting.
- Knowledge of SAP or another major ERP platform would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- A proactive approach to process improvement and change.

Package
