The Role
As Funeral Director, you will take overall responsibility for the coordination and delivery of funeral services. From the first meeting to the day of the funeral and beyond, you will ensure that each family receives a service tailored to their wishes and cultural or religious needs.
- Leading funeral services with professionalism and empathy.
- Running pre-funeral briefings and coordinating all aspects of each service.
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues to maintain high standards.
- Liaising with arrangers, care teams, celebrants, and local community contacts.
- Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations.
- Assisting with preparation and chapel duties where required.
About You
- Proven experience in funeral directing and care of the deceased.
- Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills.
- A calm, compassionate, and respectful approach.
- Flexibility to work weekends and take part in the on-call rota.
- Physical capability for manual handling tasks.
- A Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
