We are recruiting an experienced Area Manager to lead a high performing, multi site retail portfolio across Exeter and the surrounding region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong commercial Area Manager to join a successful and growing retail business, ideal for candidates from fashion retail, high street retail, or big box retail environments.
As Area Manager, you will take full ownership of regional performance, driving sales growth, profitability and KPI delivery across multiple locations. This role requires a hands on, people focused Area Manager who can coach Store Managers, elevate standards, and create a consistent customer first culture across the region. This is a newly created role within a growing business and offers the successful Area Manager genuine scope to influence results, develop talent and shape the future success of the region.

Area Manager Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop Store Managers across a multi site retail estate
- Drive sales, margin and profit performance through strong commercial leadership
- Manage KPIs, payroll and controllable costs to maximise store results
- Ensure consistent customer service, operational excellence and visual standards
- Deliver full compliance across health & safety and company policies
- Build high performing teams with a focus on talent development and succession planning
- Work closely with Head Office teams, acting as the link between stores and central functions
- Complete structured store visits, leaving clear actions and supporting underperforming locations
About You
- Proven experience as an Area Manager, Senior Area Manager or Regional Manager within retail
- Background in fashion retail, high street retail or big box retail is highly desirable
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive multi site performance
- Confident managing KPIs, people plans, and operational standards at pace
- A motivating, hands on leader who develops high performing Store Managers and teams
- Customer focused with a passion for delivering a consistent in store experience
