We're working with a large, highly successful UK consumer business to recruit a Finance Assistant into their International & Partnerships Finance team. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a supportive Finance function and gain exposure to a fascinating area of the business, working alongside experienced Finance professionals and teams across the wider organisation.

You’ll get involved in everything from Purchase Orders and Sales Ledger through to customer recharges, invoicing, claims and financial controls, while developing your understanding of how Finance supports international partnerships and commercial activity. And importantly, this is a business that invests in its people. If you’re keen to study towards AAT or continue developing your Finance qualifications, there is genuine opportunity to do so!

What will you be doing?

  • Raising and processing Purchase Orders, ensuring accurate coding and approvals.
  • Supporting Sales Ledger activities and maintaining accurate customer accounts.
  • Raising customer recharges, sundry invoices and credits.
  • Supporting customer claims and resolving queries.
  • Responding to internal and external Finance queries professionally and promptly.
  • Supporting month-end and wider Finance processes.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring Finance controls and procedures are followed.
  • Supporting audit requirements and preparing relevant documentation.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business.
  • Taking on additional responsibilities and learning as your knowledge develops.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need to have years of Finance experience. We’re looking for potential, attitude and a genuine desire to learn. You might already have experience as an:

  • Accounts Assistant
  • Finance Assistant
  • Sales Ledger Assistant
  • Purchase Ledger Assistant
  • Accounts Administrator

Or perhaps you’re working in another role where you’ve developed strong numerical, administrative and organisational skills and now want to move into Finance.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Some understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and confidence working with different people.
  • A proactive, positive approach and willingness to learn.
  • AAT qualification or an interest in studying towards a professional qualification.

Experience of systems such as SAP or Dynamics would be advantageous, but training will be provided.
