This is a rare opportunity to work alongside an experienced Finance Director, taking ownership of financial control, reporting and commercial insight across a complex, multi-entity business. Importantly, this role offers a genuine route to becoming Head of Finance as the business continues to grow. If you're looking for a role where you can influence decision making, improve processes and make a visible impact, this is an outstanding opportunity.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll lead the financial control function while providing accurate, timely and commercially focused reporting to support business performance. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, improving reporting, strengthening controls and helping leadership make faster, better-informed commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end, management accounts and board reporting across multiple entities
  • Deliver accurate, commercially focused financial reporting and analysis
  • Own budgeting, forecasting and variance reporting
  • Improve financial controls, reporting processes and automation
  • Partner with commercial and operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge
  • Lead balance sheet integrity, audit preparation and statutory reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance systems and processes
  • Manage and develop members of the finance team
  • Support strategic projects alongside the Finance Director

About You

You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong technical finance foundations and the commercial awareness to operate within a fast-moving business. You'll ideally bring:

  • Practice-trained background before moving into industry
  • Previous experience within e-commerce, retail or another fast-paced consumer business
  • Strong financial control, management reporting and statutory accounting experience
  • Experience operating across multiple entities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills
  • Strong systems knowledge and advanced Excel capability
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge existing processes and drive improvement
  • Previous people management experience, or clear leadership potential

Most importantly, you'll enjoy working in an entrepreneurial environment where no two days are the same and you'll have the opportunity to shape both the finance function and your own career.

What's on Offer?

  • £80,000 - £90,000 basic salary
  • Performance bonus
  • Genuine progression opportunity to Head of Finance for the right individual
