Where will you be working? BGEN is one of the UK’s largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the Water, Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear and Food and Beverage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions.

What will you be doing? As a key part of our local projects team, you’ll provide expert Electrical & Instrument Design and Consulting Services. Our current portfolio features a variety of exciting and impactful projects such as:

  • Extensive flow and pressure monitoring project
  • Upgrade of effluent plant to PLC control
  • Upgrade of process plant to DCS

You’ll be part of the Multi-Discipline Design Team, working closely with the Project Manager, ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of pharmaceutical projects. This involves understanding customer needs, estimating resources, producing reports and designs, and ensuring projects meet time, quality, and cost goals. Liaising with subcontractors, coordinating with other disciplines like Mechanical, Process, HVAC, and Civil, and overseeing essential design deliverables.

Are you someone with extensive experience in electrical installation design? Ideally within the pharmaceutical sector, along with strong knowledge of industry best practices and relevant regulations. Qualifications such as an HNC or Degree in engineering are valuable, and professional memberships are a plus. Skills in ATEX Hazardous Area design, Functional Safety (IEC 61508/61511), and CDM Regulations 2015 are particularly useful.

Proficiency in tools like AutoCAD LT and the Microsoft suite is important, and experience working in multi-discipline teams is a key advantage. Whether working independently or collaborating with colleagues and clients, strong communication and organizational skills will be essential to success in this role.
