Our client is recruiting a Registered Manager to be part of the registration process and help establish and manage their home, a home for young people aged 8 – 17 with Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs (SEMH) including those with mild Learning Disabilities (MLD).

Our client is looking for a strong leader who can demonstrate successful previous achievements in an Ofsted rated Good or Outstanding children’s home. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations and ensuring the highest quality of care and support. Your experience will ideally come with the Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent or a full commitment to complete the qualification.

Duties will include:

  • Working closely with the leadership team to drive successful registration with Ofsted including significant input into recruitment, systems, and policies & procedures
  • Manage and oversee daily operations of the home
  • Provide leadership and supervision to your team
  • Develop and implement high quality care plans and risk assessments to keep our children safe and happy
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted and Local Authority requirements

Skills and experience:

  • Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage a team
  • Excellent organisational skills to oversee daily operations and ensure smooth functioning of the home
  • Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures
  • Ability to supervise and train staff members, providing guidance and support as needed

Requirements:

  • Significant experience of working within a similar setting and managing Ofsted inspections
  • Have preferably already obtained the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or are committed to achieving the qualification
  • Ideally hold a full UK driving licence
  • Passion and commitment to making a positive difference to the lives of young people
  • Resilient and strong communicator
  • Proactive approach with ideas for continual improvements in all areas
