We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Grade 2 - Warehouse Operative to be based at our Panattoni Site, Northampton (NN7 4DE). You will be working on the Samsung contract (brown goods), which is an extension of our Wellingborough site operation, and there may be the occasional need to support the operation at our Wellingborough site, as required.

The salary for this role is £29,878.57 per annum with a £416 rotating shift allowance. From go-live, due to commence on 1st July 2026, the shift pattern will be:

  • 1st July – 15th September, 10:00 – 18:00 Monday - Friday
  • 15th September – 15th January 2027, rotating 6:00 – 14:00, 14:00 – 22:00 Monday – Friday
  • 15th January 2027, split shift to merge back into 10:00 – 18:00 (There will be some flexibility around dates)

The individual in this position will ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse, focusing on inbound and outbound activities at the Panattoni site, on the Samsung Brown Goods Contract. As a Grade 2 - Warehouse Operative, you will also be responsible for closely supporting Team Leaders within the operation, including any cover of their responsibilities during absences due to holidays or illness.

Additional key tasks:

  • Manage your shift to ensure smooth operations, briefing staff according to Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Work Instructions (WI).
  • Safely handle products during inbound and outbound processes, adhering to company procedures to minimise damage and prevent injuries.
  • Support warehouse efficiency by carrying out additional reasonable requests.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to build positive working relationships.
  • Follow all Health and Safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and report concerns to your Line Manager.
  • Perform equipment checks and report any defects promptly.
  • Provide effective and professional step-up support in the absence of the Team Leader/s.

Key requirements:

  • A team player with a flexible, proactive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and take on varied tasks
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Current or previous MHE licences – desirable (FLT/Reach)
  • Previous experience of working in/leading a team in a fast-moving operation and/or new operation set-up highly advantageous
  • Awareness of manual handling techniques is an advantage
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proven experience of step-up responsibilities such as holding shift briefings, health & safety initiatives, absence management, daily task allocation, reporting, and holiday approval
