We are looking for an Operations Support Manager in our Sustainable Distribution Centre (NN7 2FR) - a role with real influence, purpose, and the flexibility to work remotely one day per week (subject to business requirements). During the first six months, the position holder will play a key part in our Tilbrook (MK7 8BN) site, supporting the relocation of operations to the SDC and helping shape the future of our logistics environment. Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Operations Support Manager will be a driving force behind productivity improvements, best practice implementation, WMS reporting, and Continuous Improvement initiatives. You’ll collaborate closely with Finance, Compliance and Audit teams to ensure smooth, effective day to day operations - all while contributing to a culture where people feel supported, empowered, and set up to succeed.
The role will offer a salary of £44,987.25.

Key responsibilities
- Assist Senior Management in the development of budgets and cost reductions.
- Assess capacity and develop operational plans and forecasts based on future demand.
- Monitor processes for capacity and demand, identify constraints and provide clear analysis.
- Provide project support as required, including implementation activities at a new site.
- Create engaging and effective solutions for training and developing employees.
- Ensure all appropriate legislative changes are understood and implemented, liaising with your Line Manager and relevant departments.
Continuous Improvement
- Proactively seek opportunities to enhance processes and procedures, driving efficiency and elevating customer service.
- Support the development of additional logistics revenue opportunities with the customer.
- Analyse and champion improvements within Yusen’s quality management system.
Health and Safety (H&S)
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed, including PPE, and take action where improvements are needed.
- Ensure equipment checks are completed in line with procedure, maintaining a safe working environment for all colleagues.
- Maintain and update site Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and working instructions.
Company Procedures
- Ensure all company procedures are followed, including HR processes and standards of behaviour — supporting investigations and disciplinary hearings where required.
- Ensure consistent 5S compliance – Sort, Straighten, Sustain, Standardise, Shine.
Communication
- Ensure business communications are cascaded clearly and effectively to relevant team members.
- Ensure contracts, customers and management are updated where necessary regarding discrepancies or damages.
- Deliver confident, engaging presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
Key requirements
- Good level of education, with strong written and verbal English skills.
- Previous warehouse experience, including leading and implementing CI initiatives.
- Experience in a customer focused supervisory role.
- Ability to confidently lead client face to face meetings independently and build customer rapport.
- Experience working with 4PL companies.
- Skilled in WMS reporting, compiling statistics and conducting trend analysis.
- Experience using Power BI or similar systems.
- Experience working within a shared customer office environment (advantageous).
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages.
- Strong team working skills.
- Confident decision making, both independently and at pace.
