Position
We are looking for a Contract Manager to be based at GP3.
Role Overview
The Contract Manager is responsible for managing the operational, commercial and customer-facing functions of their portfolio of contracts, providing the best possible service to customers while adhering to company and customer quality standards and maintaining good staff relations, health & safety and financial constraints.

Key Responsibilities
- Operations
- P&L responsibility for the activities within the cost centres under their control
- Ensure supplier agreements and terms of business are properly managed, taking appropriate action as necessary to address any contraventions
- Ensure full compliance with YLUK financial processes and procedures, offering guidance and support to ensure this remains appropriate to the business
- Review and monitor achievement of Yusen budgetary performance
- Compile a detailed monthly financial summary report to Yusen senior management and identify and track all cost saving initiatives
- Directly manage a portfolio of contracts activity and customer relationships, and indirectly all operational staff across the divisions
- Ensure that any issues with meeting expectations are promptly communicated both within Yusen Logistics business and to the customer
- Customer Service
- Establish and maintain effective working customer relationships, acting as the key customer contact for Network Transport operations
- Ensure that professional and effective communication is consistently maintained to a high standard
- Identify and recommend appropriate resolutions to customer queries as identified
- Produce regular management information and accurate reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Health and Safety
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times
- Raise any non-compliances or concerns at the earliest opportunity
- Ensure all equipment checks are carried out in accordance with procedure, taking appropriate action to ensure a safe working environment for all employees
- Maintain and update site Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and working instructions
- Continuous Improvement
- Develop strong commercial offerings, in line with the company sustainability strategy and customer expectations
- Develop and deploy the sales approach for more sustainable solutions
- Collaboration with the Sustainability Committee to drive innovation to improve positioning
- Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact and enhance CSR
- Lead and deliver sustainability initiatives aligned with external and internal next‑zero targets
- Actively promote sustainable solutions to Yusen customers
- Key Requirements
- Proven management experience within a logistics transport operation
- Logistics management professional with broad experience of modern technology and good TMS/WMS knowledge
- Commercial awareness and cost management
- Proven history of business improvement through analysis
- Team player with management skills
- Proven ability to interface with customers (internal & external)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driving licence
- IT – Outlook, Excel, Power Point
- Ability to effectively manage multiple contracts and work to tight deadlines
