The Role
As an Assistant Financial Accountant, you will support the production of accurate and compliant financial reporting, ensuring statutory, accounting, tax and VAT requirements are met. You will prepare financial reports to deadlines, maintain balance sheet integrity through reconciliations, analysis and reporting, and support month-end processes and group reporting activities. You will work closely with colleagues across finance, insurance, cashier and AP/AR teams to ensure accurate financial information aligns with group policies, accounting standards and legislative requirements.
- Prepare and support VAT returns and corporate tax calculations
- Monitor and identify current or future financial risks
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP and relevant financial legislation
About You
- Studying towards ACCA, CIMA or AAT
- Experience working in a complex finance environment
- Experience of month-end processes
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft applications
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail
