We are recruiting LGV Class 1 Drivers to join our team at the Derby Findern depot (DE65 6BG). This role offers a salary of £41,597.51 per annum, based on a Monday to Friday shift pattern with start times between 05:00 and 07:00. You’ll typically work 10 hours per shift, depending on delivery location.

The Role:

As an LGV Class 1 Driver, you will safely and efficiently deliver products on behalf of our dedicated Customers. We deliver and collect products from various sites across the UK. The products are secured using stillages and pallets, and there may be a small amount of manual handling involved such as opening/closing the curtains and securing the pallets with straps, ready for transportation.

Adhering to designated routes, you’ll undertake route checks for safety restrictions, planned road works and traffic to ensure your journey will be smooth and efficient. You will be an effective communicator with a good command of English, ensuring that any issues will be relayed to the traffic office in the first instance. You’ll also demonstrate a professional and courteous manner to internal and external Customers, other road users and colleagues.

About You

To be considered as an LGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

  • A full, valid LGV Class 1 licence, with a minimum of 12 months commercial driving experience
  • No more than 6 points on your licence (SP offences only)
  • A good working knowledge of working time regulations
  • A CPC Driver qualification
  • A current Digital Tachograph Card
  • A flexible attitude to working hours
  • A good understanding of English
  • To be able to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • To be able to work independently with the ability to ‘think on your feet’
  • The ability to deliver goods in a timely manner
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail, ensuring all Documents are completed correctly
  • Excellent Customer service skills
  • To follow all instructions as required
  • The desire to offer a first-class service to our customers
