The Role

We’re looking for an afternoon Transport Operator to join our Leeds team on a full time, permanent basis (LS9 0SG). Working afternoons, you’ll play a central role in our transport operation—supporting drivers, speaking with customers, managing delivery schedules and keeping our systems accurate and up to date. What You’ll Be Doing

As a Transport Operator, you’ll co-ordinate fleet activity and ensure timely, compliant and customer focused delivery operations at our Leeds depot. You’ll be the person who keeps everything running smoothly.

Your Responsibilities

  • Communicating delivery schedules to drivers
  • Handling customer queries by phone and email
  • Inputting accurate information into our systems (Excel skills are important)
  • Acting as the main point of contact for order processing
  • Building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Escalating issues promptly to ensure service expectations are met
  • Identifying and recommending solutions to delivery failures or customer queries
  • Maintaining high standards of compliance
  • Supporting the smooth running of all traffic office contracts

About You

  • Familiarity around transport procedures
  • Strong IT skills, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Confidence in communicating with and supervising drivers
  • The ability to build strong relationships with customers
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
