About the Role
We’re recruiting for a Class 1 part‑time Shunter Driver to join our team. This role is based on our client’s site in Derby (DE1 9TA), where you’ll be responsible for moving stock to the relevant departments across the operation in line with business requirements. The working pattern is every Thursday and Friday, 15:00 to midnight (including paid breaks). This part‑time role pays £15,897.66 plus an allowance of £1,480 per annum.
The Role
- As a Class 1 Shunter Driver you will support operations at our client’s Derby site by managing the movement of trailers:
- Drive a TUG tractor unit and manoeuvre trailers throughout the site to ensure logistics operations are smooth and efficient.
- Use a handheld device to obtain instructions for your workload.
- Effectively communicate with the transport office.
- Provide excellent customer service to our client.
About You
- An LGV Class 1 licence with a minimum of 12 months’ commercial driving experience.
- No more than 6 points on your licence.
- A CPC Driver qualification.
- Good working knowledge of working‑time regulations.
- Flexibility around working hours to fit the needs of the business.
