We're recruiting for a Class 1 part‑time Shunter Driver to join our team. This role is based on our client’s site in Derby (DE1 9TA), where you will be responsible for moving stock to the relevant departments across the operation in line with business requirements. This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced CPC qualified LGV driver to make an impact with our leading organisation. Whilst experience of driving a Shunt vehicle is preferred, we will provide full training to ensure your success in the role. The Role
This is an amazing opportunity for someone who is looking for a part‑time driving role. As a Class 1 Shunter Driver, you will support operations at our client’s Derby site by managing the movement of trailers. Specifically, you will drive a TUG tractor unit and manoeuvre trailers throughout the site to ensure logistics operations are smooth and efficient.
Responsibilities
- Use a handheld device to get instructions for your workload
- Effectively communicate with the transport office
- Provide excellent customer service to our client
Qualifications
- An LGV Class 1 licence with a minimum of 12 months’ commercial driving experience
- No more than 6 points on your licence
- A CPC Driver qualification
- Good working knowledge of working time regulations
- Flexibility around working hours to fit around the needs of the business
Please note that applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position. The working pattern is every Thursday and Friday with a shift pattern of 15:00 to midnight including paid breaks. The salary for this part‑time role is £15,897.66 plus an allowance of £1,480 per annum.
