We are currently looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday, 8:30-17:00. This is a hybrid role based at our Oakwood site with up to 4 days per week of remote work with 1 day on site. Initially, more days on site may be required. The role is based at our Oakwood site located at Sherwood Business Park, 1 Little Oak Dr, Nottingham NG15 0DS.

The Role
The ideal candidate will assist the Financial Accounts Team in ensuring that the company financial reporting adheres to statutory and accounting regulations, the Group and company accounting policies and relevant tax and VAT regulations. As an Assistant Financial Accountant, you will be involved with producing financial reports in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with business needs and deadlines. Confident maintaining balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations and other key financial analysis and reports. Have a hands-on approach with month end, group reporting and be able to take accountability for weekly responsibilities alongside completing any ad-hoc duties as required. Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns, corporate tax calculations and being proactive in recognising any current or future risks. Excellent stakeholder management skills working alongside the wider finance teams, insurance team, cashier team and AP/AR team. Working knowledge of current accounting standards (IFRS and UK GAAP) and basic financial legislative requirements affecting accurate production of financial management information.
About You
- Ideally have completed AAT level 4
- Have some experience working in a complex finance environment
- Be proficient in Excel and Microsoft applications
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational skills, analytical and attention to detail
- Technical knowledge of Tax or VAT would be an advantage
- Experience in Month end process
