We're looking for a dedicated Research Engagement Manager to connect our Genomics research (think Enformer, AlphaMissense!) and the wider scientific research community and foster engagement and feedback. In this role, you will collaborate with Research, Product and Partnerships teams to design and execute strategies that amplify awareness, adoption, and understanding of our technologies. You will act as a bridge between our organization and the external Genomics community. Your focus will be to engage researchers & users, synthesise insights, and communicate the impact of our work to ensure our research delivers tangible benefits to the broader ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Engagement & Development: Design and lead initiatives to strengthen community connections, including event participation and hosting workshops. Contribute to community forums to foster dialogue and knowledge sharing. Develop community engagement strategy and align with internal teams. Proactively reach out to and maintain ongoing engagement with external researchers, academic institutions, and nonprofits.
- User Support & Feedback: Provide technical support to researchers using our tools, responding to technical and scientific inquiries and offering guidance. Deliver training sessions/workshops or present technical talks at scientific conferences. Gather, analyze, and synthesize community feedback to inform internal teams and enhance user experiences.
- Impact Identification & Storytelling: Identify impactful events to attend and present at industry and academic events to source compelling use cases and impact stories. Conduct reviews of scientific literature to identify impactful applications of our technologies. Develop end-to-end case studies: engage with researchers, translate findings into accessible language, and curate assets like quotes and visuals. Work with Marketing, Communications, Public Engagement, and Policy teams to amplify these stories externally.
- Educational Content Creation: Extend case studies into educational materials and training resources for broader dissemination (similar to our AF training course). Develop guides and tools to help researchers maximize the potential of our technologies.
What we're looking for:
- Expertise in Genomics: A solid foundation in genomics, with a deep understanding of the research landscape, user needs, and application areas.
- Exceptional Communication: Proven experience delivering technical workshops and talks, and the ability to distill complex scientific concepts into clear, accessible narratives for diverse audiences. This includes experience managing forums, providing technical user support, and creating learning materials.
- Collaboration & Relationship Management: Demonstrable ability to collaborate effectively across various teams (e.g., research, product, partnerships, communications).
- Project Management Skills: Capable of both executing independently and managing projects end-to-end with precision.
- Delivery Focused: Results-driven and action-oriented, with the ability to act with both pace and accuracy, taking initiative to deliver exceptional outcomes.
