We have an exceptional opportunity for a senior and strategic PR Account Director to join our motorsport division. This pivotal role will see you lead high-profile F1 communications accounts, driving impactful PR strategies for some of the world's most ambitious brands. As a PR Account Director, you will be the driving force behind our clients' F1 PR success. You will be responsible for developing and implementing sophisticated communications strategies, cultivating deep relationships within the F1 ecosystem, and ensuring our clients stand out in the most exciting global sport. This is a hands-on leadership role for a seasoned professional passionate about Formula 1.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Account Leadership: Develop, lead, and execute integrated PR and communications strategies tailored to F1 for a portfolio of clients, aligning with their broader business objectives.
  • Client Management: Act as the primary point of contact for senior clients, building strong relationships, providing strategic counsel, and ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional service and results.
  • Media Relations & F1 Network: Cultivate and leverage extensive relationships with journalists, broadcasters, online media, and key influencers globally. Proactively identify and secure high-value media opportunities.
  • Content & Messaging: Oversee and guide the creation of compelling press releases, media kits, briefing documents, thought leadership pieces, and digital content. Ensure messaging is consistent, impactful, and aligned with client strategy.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strategically manage relationships and media requirements with comms, marketing and commercial team members.
  • Event Management: Lead the planning and execution of press conferences, media events, activations and other key F1 moments.
  • Crisis Communications: Provide expert counsel and rapid response in managing potential reputational challenges or crises within the fast-paced F1 environment.
  • Measurement & Reporting: Oversee robust media monitoring, analysis, and reporting to demonstrate PR effectiveness, campaign ROI, and provide actionable insights to clients.
  • Business Development: Support new business initiatives, contributing to proposals and pitches with your F1 expertise.
  • Budget Management: Manage client budgets effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Requirements

  • Senior Level Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in PR and communications, with a significant portion specifically within Formula 1 or closely related top-tier motorsport.
  • F1 Expertise: Deep, nuanced understanding of the Formula 1 ecosystem, including its teams, drivers, commercial partners, sponsors, technical regulations, key media narratives, and global calendar.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrable success in leading and delivering high-impact PR campaigns for brands, teams, or sponsors within the F1 landscape.
  • Established Network: Extensive and active connections within the global media, including print, broadcast, digital journalists, and key influencers.
  • Strategic Acumen: Exceptional strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate client objectives into innovative and effective F1 PR strategies.
  • Client Leadership: Proven experience in managing senior client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor, and driving client satisfaction.
  • Crisis Management: Expert knowledge and practical experience in crisis communications, able to advise clients and manage sensitive situations effectively under pressure.
  • Exceptional Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft compelling narratives and present confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Experience leading, motivating, and developing PR teams.
