The Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT) Analyst is responsible for supporting the secure delivery and ongoing protection of the organisation's end-user computing environment. The role will focus on the technical assessment and validation of software and applications against established security standards, ensuring that approved tools can be deployed safely to colleagues. Working as part of the wider Cyber Security Team, the CIRT Analyst will also contribute to Security Operations Centre (SOC) and CIRT business-as-usual activities, collaborating closely with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) colleagues and other security stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform technical assessments of software and applications to ensure compliance with internal security standards and policies.
  • Support the secure packaging and deployment of approved applications for end-user devices.
  • Participate in cyber incident response activities, including investigation, triage, containment and remediation.
  • Monitor, analyse and respond to security alerts and events.
  • Support day-to-day SOC and CIRT operations and processes.
  • Collaborate with GRC teams to ensure security controls align with organisational requirements.
  • Identify and escalate potential threats, vulnerabilities and security risks.

Required Experience

  • 2–4+ years of experience in a SOC, CIRT, or similar cyber security operations role.
  • Experience investigating and responding to security incidents.
  • Knowledge of common attack techniques, threat actors and cyber security frameworks.
  • Understanding of vulnerability management and remediation processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
