Role
As an Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll join our dynamic, field‑based team. Your role will focus on the commissioning, maintenance, and support of fast, rapid, and ultra‑rapid EV chargers. Responsibilities
- Service, upgrade, and troubleshoot AC and DC EV chargers.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety at all times; this includes reporting of unsafe events, conditions and incidents, and by supporting business & customer‑led safety initiatives.
- Conduct electrical testing and periodic inspections of charging equipment and associated supplies.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, to a high standard, and on schedule.
- Communicate effectively with contractors and customers, both on‑site and digitally.
- Manage and report your own vehicle stock levels.
- Analyse and process data to optimise contract performance.
- Handle emergency repairs and support out‑of‑hours work by being part of a regular standby call‑out rota.
- Complete product training and achieve National Highways Sector Scheme accreditation.
- Customer‑specific product training, which may include overseas travel.
- Support and work in other areas when required (this may involve staying away overnight from time to time).
- Assist engineers working on traffic signals & associated equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Experience working with low and medium voltage electrical systems.
- A proactive problem‑solver who is eager to learn and thrives in a team environment.
- Experience working with IT equipment.
- Safety‑conscious, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working outdoors.
- A full driving licence and proximity to one of our depots.
Desirable
- A Level 3 Electrical qualification (e.g., EAL, City & Guilds).
- ECS Gold Card and City & Guilds 2391‑52 qualifications or equivalent.
- City & Guilds 2921‑31‑32‑33 qualifications or equivalent.
- 18th edition BS7671 qualification.
- Photovoltaic panel systems experience.
- Battery energy storage systems experience.
- Experience using IT equipment and software.
- HERS registered.
