We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Operator to join our state-of-the-art electronics manufacturing facility in Poole (soon to be Bournemouth). You will be responsible for running and maintaining our automated SMT assembly lines, ensuring all products are built to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:- Setting up and operating automated Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machinery to assemble electronic circuits, load components, operate pick-and-place machines and reflow ovens, and ensure high-quality production of printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Component Management: Load reels, feeders, and trays with surface mount components accurately based on specifications.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct visual inspections and use Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) to verify component placement and solder quality.
- Documentation: Work from engineering drawings, assembly diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Maintenance: Perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot any placement issues.
- Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to IPC-A-610 standards and strict ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety guidelines.
