Do you want to make a difference with the work you do? Join us as an HSQE Advisor. The successful candidate will come from a background as a Health and Safety Advisor, Environment Advisor or Quality Advisor. You will be based in Northern England or Central Scotland, supporting the Regional Yunex management team and wider HSQE team both locally.

As an HSQE Advisor, you will maintain and develop close relationships with key internal customers across the Yunex operational functions, sharing best practices and demonstrating a proactive approach towards continuous improvement. You will champion, facilitate and support effective and proportionate management of health, safety and environmental risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and facilitate effective and proportionate management of HSQE across our North Region, which includes service centres at Leigh, Normanton, Belfast (NI), as well as Central and Northern Scotland.
  • Develop positive and proactive business relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Provide technical advice, coaching, training, and support delivery of risk management programmes.
  • Collate information to monitor delivery against agreed KPIs and facilitate continual improvement.
  • Develop risk assessments and work instructions, monitor implementation, identify areas for improvement.
  • Support accident, incident and near miss investigations, including RCA work and corrective actions.
  • Where necessary, liaise with regulatory bodies.
  • Support procurement with the onboarding/validation of new service providers.
  • Assist in the maintenance of ISO, NHSS Sector 8 and where applicable FORS (Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme) accreditation.
  • Complete HSQE internal audits across the region to support governance.
  • Attendance of external audits with accredited bodies and support where necessary closure of actions.
  • Collate data, develop and deliver reports and represent the HSQE Team in meetings.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Recent and demonstrable experience as a HSQE Advisor.
  • Level 3 qualification in health and safety (essential).
  • Level 6 qualification in health and safety (preferred).
  • Second higher level qualification in relevant discipline (i.e.: science, engineering, quality).
  • Qualification in Internal Audit and ideally Lead Auditor qualification (not essential).
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body.
  • Ability and experience acting as a role model with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of being a subject matter expert, with ability to provide specialist advice and support.
  • Ideally Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Auditor experience.
  • Chartered membership of an appropriate professional body (desirable).
