Award-winning toy and consumer products company YuMe Toys is seeking an experienced Manager, Corporate Communications & PR to join its UK-based Marketing team. Reporting into the Director of Global Marketing, this role is responsible for shaping and managing YuMe and Maxx Marketing’s corporate voice, overseeing PR and media relations, and protecting and elevating the company’s reputation across B2B and consumer-facing channels. This position plays a critical role in executive visibility, trade and consumer media engagement, and strategic storytelling as YuMe continues to expand its global footprint and consumer-facing presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Corporate Communications & Brand Voice
- Own YuMe and Maxx Marketing’s corporate presence on LinkedIn, including publishing approved content and managing public-facing engagement.
- Sharpen our corporate brands’ tone of voice and visual identity in the context of B2B communications pieces.
- Draft and manage corporate editorial content, ensuring full internal approval prior to publication.
- PR & Media Relations
- Maintain strong relationships with B2B and B2C trade, consumer, and online media outlets.
- Identify opportunities to increase share of voice in the US and key European markets.
- Draft and distribute press releases with direct media follow-up.
- Identify awards, gift guides, and feature opportunities and manage submissions.
- Editorial, Advertising & Partnerships
- Draft creative briefs and coordinate development of advertising artwork.
- Manage editorial and artwork deadlines to ensure opportunities are not missed.
- Negotiate advertising rates and packages within approved budgets.
- Track delivery of negotiated editorial and advertising commitments.
- Manage the trade publication advertising budget.
- Negotiate and manage approved trade partnerships and sponsorships for industry events.
- Executive, Events & Reputation Management
- Coordinate executive interviews (written and in-person) and corporate features, including drafting talking points and attributed quotes.
- Support event-related press communications, launches, and announcements.
- Attend key tradeshows to brief media, manage photoshoots, and support executive briefings.
- Manage crisis communications in alignment with senior leadership, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Planning & Reporting
- Develop and maintain the company website news/blog section.
- Plan and recommend strategic corporate news beats in alignment with the Director of Global Marketing.
- Produce and circulate monthly corporate communications reports company-wide.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in corporate communications, PR, or media relations, ideally within consumer products, toys, licensing, or entertainment industries (experience in toys or entertainment licensing is a plus but not required).
- Proven experience managing media relationships and delivering consistent PR coverage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for executive, trade, and consumer audiences.
- Highly organized with strong project management skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive problem-solver mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and manage risk.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with Sales, Creative, and senior leadership.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on occasional weekday evenings, and periodically on weekends for special events and tradeshows.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with media monitoring tools is a plus.
