About the Job
The Finance Analyst would play a working role in month end processing for lease accounting and would be accountable for all lease accounting, reconciliations, and month end review. This role ensures correct accounting related to all leases and lease related activities working with internal teams and customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely reconciliations and analysis for lease-related accounts and ensure general ledger balance sheet accounts are current and compliant with SOX.
- Handle Percent Rent payments and accrual accounting, service charges, landlord insurance and business rates.
- Conduct Quarterly reporting and Balance Sheet Flux analysis.
- Provide initial set up, amortization and reconciliation of Deferred Rent and ASC 842 accounts for all brands.
- Prepare period-end and quarterly accounting and analysis of various rent related expense accounts.
- Manage Franchise to Franchise Transfers, Refranchise deals, raise recharges to Franchisees for sub-let stores and business rentals.
- Responsible for quarterly and annual forecasting, including explanations for variances and monthly true-up details.
- Assist with all internal and external audit team requests, ensuring requests and responses are logical and timely.
Is This You?
- Degree in accounting, finance or related field, working towards accounting qualification, previous lease experience highly regarded.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are necessary.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong process-oriented mindset with high attention to detail and inquisitive mindset.
- Ability to manage deadlines effectively, prioritize work tasks, and handle a dynamic work environment.
- Analytical skills with the ability to draw insightful conclusions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Work Environment
This role is based out of our Restaurant Support Centre (RSC) in Woking (around 25 minutes by train from London Waterloo) and a minimum of 1 day per week in the RSC is required, plus occasional other days for team or market meetings.
