We’re looking for talented and ambitious engineers to join our rapidly growing business. This is a unique opportunity to help expand our field gas and electric metering capability across the UK.
Location: West London
Compensation: £43,260 / year (base). Transient Elite: £44,805 base with realistic earnings £50k–£55k. Transient Non-Elite: £38,250.
Retention Bonus: Up to £60,000 payable after three years, subject to overall business performance and individual targets.
Reports to: Regional Field Manager
Working Hours: 40 hours Monday – Friday
Transient Work: Open to discuss levels of transient work (1, 2 or 3 weeks away per month).
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality installation, exchange, commissioning, and maintenance of gas and electricity metering systems and communication equipment.
- For Transient Elite Engineers: undertake friendly debt resolution visits and alternate between attending Warrants as the on-site engineer and acting as the Warrant Officer (always supported).
- For Transient Non-Elite Engineers: focus purely on technical metering work — no warrant or debt visits.
- Travel during transient weeks to allocated locations; typical pattern is travel Sunday, work Monday–Thursday (8am–7pm), return Friday. All travel time paid at overtime rates (x1.5 and x1).
- Receive sustenance and transient payments during away weeks (£25 per night, £40 per night respectively).
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, metering standards, and company procedures.
- Be proactive in stock, tool, and vehicle care and safety.
- Engage in ongoing development and mentoring; upskill in areas such as Three-Phase, Medium Pressure, Half-Hourly / CT Metering, Gas U16–U40.
- Potential career progression to Technical Lead, Quality Assessor, or Regional Field Manager.

- Be accountable for safe installation, removal, and maintenance of metering systems and associated equipment.
- Provide friendly, professional customer interactions reflecting company values.
- Elite Engineers may undertake Warrant Officer and debt resolution visits with back-office support; Non-Elite Engineers focus on core metering duties.
- Collaborate with colleagues and management to achieve team and business goals; participate in technical training and mentoring opportunities.
- Be open to upskilling in relevant areas (Three Phase, Medium Pressure, Half-Hourly / CT Metering, Gas U16–U40).
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Willingness to travel for transient work (flexible 1, 2, or 3 weeks away).
- Comfortable with both standard and warrant-related visits with empathy and professionalism.
