Role: TPI Account Manager – Reports to: Sales Channel Manager. Location: Manchester (M5) with occasional visits to all office locations. Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week.

We’re looking for experienced, talented, and ambitious salespeople to join us on an exciting journey as we continue our rapid growth from a new office location in Manchester. You will be joining the internal team at the start of this journey with the opportunity to have a real impact on the future of sales within Yu Energy.

In the role of TPI Account Manager you will be responsible for delivering growth in the SME and Mid-Market sectors from a portfolio of TPIs. You will have experience of driving sales through service and have a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in the business utility sector. You will work closely with your TPIs to ensure our brand proposition and products are integrated into their sales journey and any blockers are dealt with swiftly and appropriately. You will manage a daily pipeline of sales opportunities from tender to contract closure, ensuring timely delivery of all quotes. You will be the face of Yu Energy with the expectation to manage all aspects of your TPIs’ performance, develop a strong network within each of your partners and drive additional value through regular hospitality and incentives.

In addition to being responsible for driving sales growth from your own TPI portfolio, you will work closely with our Strategic Account Managers to offer pricing support when required. This presents a development opportunity to gain valuable experience of working with some of our larger accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Accountability for overall sales performance and pipeline for your TPI portfolio
  • Developing account plans with key TPIs to understand and give visibility of their routes to market, potential value and actions to progress value/volume
  • Understand challenges and blockers to sales and ensure these are logged, collated, and solutions are managed through to delivery
  • Ensuring pricing is completed on time and is of high quality
  • Utilise your experience and relationships in this market to grow business
  • Identify and understand TPI needs and work with key stakeholders to make things happen
  • Keep an in-depth awareness of your TPIs servicing needs, and work proactively to address any challenges as they happen
  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of your TPIs, their wants and needs and how we can work together better
  • Consistently achieve sales targets for your TPI portfolio
  • Identify and prioritise value in your pipeline
  • Work closely with operations delivery points such as onboarding, billing and commissions
  • Provide accurate reports to Management and TPIs where necessary
  • Performance manage all TPIs with an expectancy of growth
  • Regular on-site visits and performance meetings to ensure total alignment with TPIs
  • Collaborate with TPIs to help reduce any outstanding debt for their customers
  • Lead and own incentives and hospitality to stimulate additional sales
  • Ability to run your own desk without being micromanaged
  • Provide up-to-date status to line manager for all key accounts via account planning including pipeline

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in the energy retail industry
  • Experience and knowledge of the UK Energy sector (Essential)
  • Experience and knowledge of selling through TPIs (Essential)
  • Ability to manage high workloads and balance priorities
  • A proven track record in delivering sales targets across multiple channels
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced Sales Team
  • First-rate communication and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated to succeed, with a passion for targets and results
  • Excellent initiative and evidence of good commercial thinking
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities or team make up
  • Strong planning & organisational skills
