Do you enjoy a challenge, working outdoors and being part of a team? If so, we have an exciting opportunity as a Construction Team Leader within our Civils Construction team, which provides a vital in‑house design and build service that helps to ensure we construct and maintain effective water and sewerage assets for Wessex Water.

What you'll do

As a Construction Team Leader you will be responsible for leading operatives carrying out construction site activities, including excavations, pipe‑laying, operating plant, general groundworks and concreting. You will do this as instructed by the site management team to ensure that all works are completed and compliant with company policies and procedures. You will attend and participate in team briefs, safety updates and workplace communications to ensure the works are carried out safely and to the best possible standard. You will be working within a highly performing team which works outdoors in all weathers and deals with different challenges every day, providing a vital service to our client.

You will have relevant construction site experience and have undergone relevant training for this role. If not, training can be provided for the right candidate. You will have great communication skills, a positive, can‑do attitude and be able to motivate and encourage our operatives to be the best they can be. As safety is key for us, you act as an ambassador for all things health, safety and wellbeing related. These roles are site‑based and we have (often remote) sites all around our region, so you will need to hold a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel (up to 90 mins) to various locations in the Wessex Water area.
