What you’ll do:
- Maintain sewage pumping stations and associated assets by carrying out preventative maintenance on all sewage pumping stations and associated assets.
- Help to diagnose faults on both mechanical and electrical plants.
- Provide a high level of customer service.
- Manage pollution in an effective manner.
- Ensure the health, safety and welfare of colleagues, the public and yourself.
- Providing emergency cover on a standby rota is essential and required, so you must have a flexible approach to working weekends. You will be on a 1 in 4 standby rotation. Standby and overtime payments will be payable.
What you’ll need:
- You will be a customer‑focused person with a positive approach to resolving problems.
- Be able to work using your own initiative in a pressurised environment during the day or night.
- Be confined space trained (ideally).
- Be qualified to NVQ level 2 in sewerage operations (not essential).
- Have worked in a physically demanding environment.
- Have a willingness to undertake training.
- Have mechanical and electrical skills with formal qualifications (not essential).
