What you’ll do:

  • Maintain sewage pumping stations and associated assets by carrying out preventative maintenance on all sewage pumping stations and associated assets.
  • Help to diagnose faults on both mechanical and electrical plants.
  • Provide a high level of customer service.
  • Manage pollution in an effective manner.
  • Ensure the health, safety and welfare of colleagues, the public and yourself.
  • Providing emergency cover on a standby rota is essential and required, so you must have a flexible approach to working weekends. You will be on a 1 in 4 standby rotation. Standby and overtime payments will be payable.

What you’ll need:

  • You will be a customer‑focused person with a positive approach to resolving problems.
  • Be able to work using your own initiative in a pressurised environment during the day or night.
  • Be confined space trained (ideally).
  • Be qualified to NVQ level 2 in sewerage operations (not essential).
  • Have worked in a physically demanding environment.
  • Have a willingness to undertake training.
  • Have mechanical and electrical skills with formal qualifications (not essential).
