We have a new exciting opportunity within our Engineering and Asset Management Mainlaying team for an Engineering Technician. You will be responsible for designing water mains for all developer-driven schemes within the North area of our region.
What you'll do
- This is a varied, busy and key role, where your work will be targeted to meet industry standards.
- You will be required to attend regular design meetings to review design proposals and site progress.
- Additional responsibilities will include:
- Preparing drawings for developer-driven schemes, including obtaining the relevant approvals through company procedures.
- Liaising with construction teams, lead engineers, other departments and external third parties to agree programmes of work.
- Ensuring sites are ready and all relevant notices have been applied for.
- Completing required auditable documents for schemes.
What you'll need

- You will also be confident, driven and self-motivated with the ability to work to tight time frames.
- The ability to work in a small team while covering your own area of responsibility is essential.
- Ideally, you'll have some knowledge of the water industry and relevant technical standards and systems.
- Knowledge of the water industry in relation to pipelines is preferred, but training will be given.
- An understanding of NRSWA and other relevant legislation is also preferred but training will be given.
- A full driving licence is required as this position will require travel between Wessex Water offices and sites.
