YTL ConstructionUK isseeking a Principal Electrical Duty Holder to provide strategic leadership, governance, and assurance for electrical safety across our construction projects. This is a critical senior technical role, ensuring electrical risks are effectively managed while supporting the safe delivery and handover of complex infrastructure projects. What You'll Do Acting as the appointed Electrical Duty Holder under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, you willbe responsible forelectrical safety rules, authorisation frameworks, competency standards, and compliance across temporary, permanent, and High Voltage (HV) electrical systems throughout construction, testing, and commissioning activities. You'llmainly: own and maintain the company's Electrical Safety Rules, electrical authorisation procedures, and Permit-to-Work system establish and govern the electrical authorisation framework, including approval of Authorised Persons, Competent Persons, and specialist contractors define, assess, and assure electrical competence standards across employees and contractors provide technical governance and assurance for High Voltage (HV) systems, operations, isolation, switching, and testing activities ensure safe systems of work are implemented for construction-phase electrical installations, temporary power, control systems, and commissioning activities lead investigations into electrical incidents and oversee corrective and preventative actions support audits, inspections, regulatory engagement, and compliance reviews provide expert input into electrical design reviews, construction methodologies, commissioning plans, and temporary works work closely with project teams, clients, contractors, and commissioning partners to ensure safe project delivery and successful handover provide oversight of YTL Construction's IET Professional Development Scheme, supporting engineers working towards professional registration. What You'll Need For this role, it is essential that you have: a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) extensive experience managing electrical systems within construction, infrastructure, utilities, or major project environments a strong track record of providing electrical safety leadership during construction and commissioning activities detailed knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations, electrical safety management systems, and safe systems of work experience developing and managing electrical safety rules, permit-to-work arrangements, and authorisation frameworks strong understanding of high-voltage systems and associated operational safety requirements experience assessing and assuring the competence of electrical personnel and contractors excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
