Do you have wastewater experience in a commissioning-based role? Are you a supportive people manager? If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join us as a Principal Commissioning Engineer.

What you\’ll do

As a Principal Commissioning Engineer, you will support the Commissioning Manager in the strategic development of the team, including resource planning and recruitment, as well as working out how commissioning requirements will be met on schemes in the next five years or more.

You will also:

  • undertake commissioning activities on less complex capital schemes
  • stand in for engineers on their schemes when required
  • assist with business deliverables, such as reviewing and updating quality management documents, and auditing team members on quality management compliance
  • provide support to the Commissioning Manager to ensure suitable representation at key project meetings
  • review commissioning plans.

You will manage a team of approximately 10 direct reports, including engineers and technicians, who you will share your knowledge and expertise with, as well as supporting, coaching and mentoring them to success.

Your role will involve travel across our region which covers Bristol, Salisbury, Bournemouth, Bridgwater and everything in between.

What you\’ll need

You will be a proactive people manager, a confident communicator and an excellent team player. You will ideally have at least five years\’ experience in a commissioning/water process environment or hold a degree in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline.

In addition, you will have:

  • experience commissioning and its related procedures, preferably within the UK water industry
  • good computer skills
  • knowledge of quality management and how it applies to commissioning
  • a valid driving licence (a company car will be provided).
