If so, we have a great opportunity for you in our Compliance team as a Flow Measurement Technician! This role will see you travel across the picturesque Wessex Water region, which covers Bristol, Salisbury, Bournemouth, Bridgwater and everything in between looking after our regulatory MCerts flow and level monitoring devices.
What you'll do
As a Flow Measurement Technician, you will be working in a small team where your day-to-day roles include installing, commissioning and maintaining flow measurement and EDM level monitoring equipment at our water recycling centres, water treatment centres and pumping stations, ensuring they meet strict standards of accuracy and reliability set by our regulator. This is a hands-on practical job that requires a methodical approach and great attention to detail to ensure the high standards are maintained. Day-to-day jobs include:
- Checking, calibrating and adjusting electronic sensors, monitors and loggers
- Auditing and certifying flow measurement installations to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards
- Responding to faults and breakdowns and organising repairs and remedial works
- Carrying out secondary verifications using a variety of portable meters
- Carrying out checks on river gauging stations and commissioning new flow meter installs
What you'll need
We are looking for a self-motivated person who can work equally well on their own or as part of a team. In addition, we are looking for:
- Good maths and English (ideally, to GCSE level or equivalent)
- IT literacy
- Confined space trained (although training can be given)
- Excellent problem solving and fault-finding skills
- Good ability to plan own workload
- A level 2 NVQ in electrical maintenance (advantageous but not essential, as full training will be given to the successful applicant)
Please note due to the nature of this role you will need to travel to different sites within the Wessex Water region, therefore holding a full clean driving licence is essential, a company vehicle is provided.
