As the Enabling Services Strategy Manager, you will lead the development, coordination, oversight, and delivery of Wessex Water's long-term strategy for its enabling services functions. This is to further support operational resilience, digital and cyber security capabilities, compliance and customer satisfaction. This role leads long-term strategic investment planning in this area by identifying and prioritising future business needs. The role ensures alignment with corporate objectives, regulatory expectations, and AMP8 deliverables.
What you'll do
- Play a pivotal leadership role in safeguarding operational resilience and shaping strategic investment across core business support areas.
- Act as a key interface between the asset technology planning manager, the wider business and senior leaders, ensuring that future investment decisions are informed, aligned, and deliver sustainable value.
- Lead the strategy of the Management & General (M&G) investment portfolio, encompassing diverse domains: Plant & Fleet, Laboratories, Property, Facilities Management, Conservation, Access & Recreation, Information Security, IT, Retail, Net Zero, Resilience, SEMD, and Smart Metering.
- Understand the needs of customers, communities, and the environment.
- Influence our 25-year company-wide strategic direction and business planning process.
- Deliver a strategy that meets legislative and regulatory requirements whilst delivering customer and environmental needs and investor returns.
- Provide visible leadership internally and externally, including across the UK water sector.
- Collaborate with all areas of the business to define strategy in partnership with stakeholders.
- Horizon scan, understand technological innovations, keeping ahead of the market.
- Bring a structured and analytical approach to solving strategic, commercial, operational, and health and safety issues.
- Contribute to a developing culture within the strategy team to achieve high levels of strategic thinking and cross-company collaboration.
- Influence sector and government policy.
What you'll need
- HNC/Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience.
