This is a strategic leadership role requiring an individual who has successfully delivered large-scale and complex projects with Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) packages valued at least £50 million and above. You'll not only lead MEP delivery but will play a key role in establishing and developing the core MEP delivery organisation for one of the UK's most significant entertainment and mixed-use developments. This role offers the opportunity to influence how major projects are delivered by integrating best practices from the UK, Asia-Pacific and international markets.

What you'll do

  • Be a commercially astute, forward-thinking leader who thrives in complex stakeholder environments, values international collaboration and challenges traditional project delivery.
  • Lead the design, integration, procurement and delivery of MEP systems in line with technical standards, UK regulations, client requirements and programme timelines.
  • Offer a combination of strategic vision, technical MEP expertise and leadership to manage risk, drive collaboration and ensure seamless delivery across diverse projects.

You'll offer significant experience in these core areas:

  • Strategic leadership: Lead end-to-end delivery of major MEP packages from pre-construction to handover. Act as MEP lead for the YTL Arena, aligning strategy with programme, commercial, and operational goals. Champion safety, quality, sustainability, and governance excellence.
  • Leadership and team development: Build, lead, and develop a high-performing MEP team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Support the growth of YTL's in-house MEP capability and collaborate with Malaysia-based teams.
  • Stakeholder management: Manage key relationships across clients, contractors, authorities, and leadership teams (UK & Malaysia). Lead stakeholder engagement, decision-making, and governance forums. Proactively identify and resolve risks, issues, and delays.
  • Design and technical leadership: Oversee design to ensure quality, compliance, and performance. Lead multidisciplinary coordination and drive innovation, standardisation, and value optimisation.
  • Commercial and risk management: Manage MEP packages (£50m+) including procurement and contractor engagement. Drive value engineering, cost control, and effective risk and change management.
  • International collaboration: Work across the UK and Malaysia teams to share knowledge and best practice. Promote global expertise, innovation, and diverse collaboration.
  • Commissioning and operational readiness: Lead commissioning, testing, and handover strategies. Ensure systems meet performance goals and support operational transition.

What you'll need

  • Proven delivery of major projects with MEP package values of £50m+ across complex sectors (e.g. arenas, stadia, data centres, transport, healthcare, mixed use).
  • Significant experience in MEP project delivery, leading multidisciplinary teams and managing consultants, contractors and specialist supply chains.
  • Strong experience in commissioning, handover and operational readiness of complex building systems.
  • Highly competent in commercial, contractual, and risk management within international and multicultural environments.
  • Credible, resilient leader with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Willing to challenge convention, embrace innovation and lead with integrity and accountability.
  • Experience delivering international projects and managing geographically dispersed teams.
  • Exposure to diverse construction markets and delivery methodologies is highly desirable.

Ideally you'll have a:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status preferred (CIBSE, IMechE, IET or equivalent).
  • Project management qualification desirable (PMP, APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
  • Relevant H&S and site certifications (SMSTS/SSSTS/NEBOSH, CSCS or equivalent).

What you'll receive

  • Career progression and professional development opportunities.
  • 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
  • A car allowance.
  • Performance-related bonus.

  • A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
  • Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
  • The opportunity to lease a new electric car through salary sacrifice (subject to conditions).
  • Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
  • One paid volunteering day each year.
