Are you looking for a role that offers development opportunities? If so, our Sewer Renovations Scheduling team is looking for a Sewer Asset Surveying Task Controller to join the team. This is a 12-month fixed-term role for maternity cover, but with increased investment in our workstreams, there are often opportunities within the team and therefore the possibility of a permanent role at the end of it.

What you'll do

As a Sewer Asset Survey Task Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring that our staff and contractors have a fully scheduled workload of proactive sewer asset surveys, which are planned to ensure the best possible efficiencies and success rate. You will need to coordinate and balance job types from multiple sources, ranging from customer-driven work to engineering support and network management requirements. You'll also work independently to ensure that all customer, KPI and performance targets are either met or exceeded.

Your duties and responsibilities will also include:

  • ensuring all in-house systems are kept up to date with current progress and communications
  • processing street works notices, third-party private land entry and environmental permits
  • liaising and planning of works with internal crews and external contractors
  • the organisation of enabling works involving other departments
  • quality control and auditing of external and internal surveying crews and data submitted
  • traffic management planning and implementation
  • facilitating works on or within close proximity to live railways, watercourses and motorways
  • forecasting of projected spend against various budgets (working with the construction manager, supervisor and project manager)
  • pre-commencement site meetings with internal crews, external contractors and third parties.

What you'll need

You will be able to deal effectively with internal/external workforces, customers, local authorities and internal stakeholders. Full training will be given, but experience in NRSWA, WINCAN and MSCC5 would be an advantage. You will also need:

  • excellent organisational skills
  • attention to detail
  • the ability to meet tight deadlines and work well as an individual and as a team
  • to be PC and systems literate with the ability to use multiple IT systems
  • to have good telephone and face-to-face communication skills with people at multiple levels
  • to be able to work well under pressure
  • to be proactive, flexible and practical
  • to hold a full driving licence.

You must be able to prove your eligibility to work in the UK and provide evidence of qualifications gained. All offers of employment will be subject to a Basic Disclosure and Criminal Records check.
