There is an exciting opportunity to join our Sewerage Pumping Station (SPS) team as SPS Manager.

This role is responsible for leading the north SPS operational team, ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our sewerage pumping station assets whilst delivering excellent performance for our customers, communities and the environment.

You will play a key role in maintaining compliance, drivingoperationalimprovements,supportinginvestment programmes anddevelopingahigh-performingteamcapable of deliveringexceptional standardsacrossthe region.

What you'll do

As theSPSManager, you will:

  • lead, develop andsupportateamofSPSOperators andtechnicians
  • ensure the highest standards ofhealth, safety and wellbeing for employees and contractors
  • manageteamperformance, training, succession planning and personaldevelopment
  • drive complianceacrossoperational,environmentalandregulatoryrequirements
  • manage theSPSmaintenance programme, workbankperformanceand assetreliability
  • leadresponses tooperationalincidents, service failures and pollution preventioninitiatives
  • work closelywiththeControlRoom, Network teams,OptimisationEngineers and CapitalDeliveryteams
  • manage regional budgets andidentifyopportunitiesto improveefficiencyand reduce costs
  • supportcapital schemes through design reviews, technical approvals,commissioningand project sign-off
  • promotecontinuousimprovementthrough the use of data, assetperformancereviews andoperationalinnovation
  • ensure effectivemanagementoftelemetryalarms, customer contacts, lone working compliance and site standards
  • communicateincidents,operationalrisks,performanceissues and businessprioritieseffectivelyacrossthe widerorganisation
  • supportthedeliveryof companyobjectivesrelating to customer service,environmentalperformance, assethealthandoperationalresilience.

What you'll need

We're looking for someone who combines strong leadership skillswithextensiveoperationalknowledge.

You will ideally have:

  • proven experienceleadingoperationalteams
  • extensive knowledge of sewerage pumping stations, pumps,controlsystems andassociatedequipment
  • a strongunderstandingofoperationalrisk,environmentalcompliance and incidentmanagement
  • experience managing maintenance programmes and drivingoperationalperformance
  • electricaland/orMechanicalqualifications, ideally NVQ Level 3 orequivalent
  • a recognisedmanagementqualification, ideally ILM Level 3 or above, or a willingness to work towards one
  • sound knowledge of COSHH, DSEAR andhealthand safetyrequirements
  • excellentcommunicationandstakeholdermanagementskills
  • strong IT skills and experience usingoperationalsystems,telemetryand assetmanagementtools
  • theabilityto make effectivedecisionsin afast-pacedoperationalenvironment
  • aproactiveapproach to problem solving andcontinuousimprovement
  • a fullUKdriving licence.
