Are you an experienced Mechanical Technician looking to take the next step in your career within the water industry? If so, we have a role which will see you join a friendly, supportive and technical team, where you'll help look after our water recycling centres, maintaining the highest standards for our customers. This is an exciting challenge for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our high-performing and dedicated Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation (EM&I) team, covering sewage treatment sites across the Weston-super-Mare, Bridgwater and Wellington area.
Whether you have previous experience working in a 24/7 operational production environment or a commercial or industrial background doing PPM, fault finding and rectification, we want to hear from you.
What you'll do
As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will join the EM&I team, carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance work on our sewage treatment sites. Day to day your responsibilities will be to ensure the effective operation of plant machinery and equipment, as well as carrying out fault finding, fault diagnosis and fault resolution. Your experience and expertise in decision making will be second to none, as you will confidently seek to make continuous improvements on our sewage treatment sites to reduce the risk of our sites not performing to their full potential.
What you'll need
In this position, you will be required to have a can-do attitude and a flexible approach to work activities, as you will be involved in a variety of tasks. You will also have ongoing development opportunities to develop your skillset and knowledge, which can include level 2 electrical installation. To be successful, we are seeking a time served Mechanical Maintenance Technician who is competent in pumps, gearboxes, bearing and conveyor equipment including finding faults and sourcing replacement equipment. It is essential that candidates applying for the role hold a City & Guilds/BTEC, NVQ Level 3 or a time served apprenticeship. Formal electrical training (dual skilled) is preferred but not essential. The successful candidate would also need to have excellent health and safety awareness and IT literacy. To be considered for this role you must hold a valid UK Driving licence, as there will be regular travel around various sites within the region. You will also be required to participate in a standby rota.
