Do you have a thorough knowledge and understanding of how Water Recycling Centres, Pumping Stations and Sludge Treatment Centres operate? Are you looking to step into a senior, strategic leadership role where you can use your knowledge and lead a divisional area to success? If so, we have a great opportunity for you as a Head of Water Recycling Treatment in the West of the Wessex Water region.
What you'll do
As one of three Heads of Department, you'll ensure the successful strategic management of water recycling centres and terminal pumping stations at all times. Your key objectives will be to deliver excellent performance in health and safety, a highly engaged team, the best customer service and leading environmental performance, such as in pollution and effluent quality and financial control. Reporting to the Water Recycling - Treatment Director, this is a key role in our leadership team where you will be responsible for over 85 multi-disciplinary staff, including operators, technicians and scientists, working over a large geographical area. You will interact with a range of internal stakeholders, including Operations, YTL and Corporate Services functions, as well as external bodies such as the Environment Agency, Natural England, Council representatives and of course, our customers. You'll also be dealing with the media for ongoing public relations and managing emergency incidents.
What you'll need
As well as being an engaging and effective people leader, you'll be able to drive innovation and optimisation, alongside operational excellence, and core value delivery. You'll likely possess a degree or equivalent in a leadership, engineering or scientific discipline, backed up by significant operational experience. Your background will include water recycling knowledge in networks and treatment processes, as well as leadership and commercial experience. This breadth and depth of experience will allow you to provide strategic leadership that is supported by technical credibility and financial acumen. Your management style will be inclusive, motivational and people-focused, which will help you deliver operational outcomes in the best way possible.
