Please note, this role is to cover maternity leave and the hours required are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm.

What you'll do

  • As the Permit Coordinator, you will be responsible for the assessment and administration of both planned and urgent requests for engineering and main-laying permits, national condition text, and complex traffic management requests (multi-way and road closures).
  • You will provide advice and guidance to all departments to ensure compliance and accuracy to avoid fixed penalty notices and reduce costs where possible.
  • As part of this role, you will liaise closely with highway authority, dealing with permit modification requests, authority-imposed variations, and permit refusals and grants, as well as providing and receiving updates throughout the works.
  • You will also produce and distribute various reports to all departments to ensure permits are managed in line with legislative requirements, including identifying and reporting on permit infringements to help shape new business processes and highlight areas for improvement.
  • Please note, you will be required to cover for other areas where required (both Task Controller and Permit Coordinator roles).
