This is an office-based role in our Asset Information Management (AIM) team. You will help ensure Wessex Water has accurate, trusted asset data to support safe, compliant and efficient decision-making.

What you'll do

  • Validate, cleanse, structure and govern asset data in line with agreed standards and frameworks.
  • Identify trends, anomalies and data quality issues.
  • Improve confidence in asset information.
  • Support asset planning, operations, regulatory reporting and investment decisions.
  • Act as a central point of contact for asset data requests.
  • Provide insight, analysis, mapping, visualisation and data extracts for teams across the business.
  • Work closely with Asset Management, IT and Performance Reporting & Analytics to help maintain and improve asset databases, reporting tools and automated datasets.
  • Support the wider business in better understanding and using asset data through guidance, training and coaching, and by helping to shape systems that store or depend on asset information.
  • Collaborate widely to improve data quality, governance and outcomes.

What you’ll need

  • Strong technical skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • The ability to interpret and analyse data using a range of tools.
  • To be highly computer-literate, with strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel).
  • Experience with tools such as SQL, Python or VBA, which would be an advantage.
  • A good understanding of asset management principles, including the IAM maturity and governance model.
  • Knowledge of ISO 55000, GDPR and operational processes is desirable, with IAM Certification an advantage.
  • To be a confident communicator and able to explain technical topics clearly to a wide audience.
  • To be organised and detail-focused.
  • You’ll manage competing priorities, work collaboratively, and bring a pragmatic, future-focused approach in a changing environment.
