In this varied role, you will support the effective management of the group's accounts receivable function by ensuring customer accounts are maintained accurately, payments are collected on time, and overdue debts are proactively managed. This role supports healthy cash flow across the business. This is a 12 month fixed term contract.
What you'll do
- Raising and processing sales invoices and credit notes while providing support to resolve invoice-related queries.
- Proactively contacting customers by phone, email and letter to collect overdue payments, reducing aged debt and helping the business achieve its cash collection targets.
- Accurately allocating incoming payments, reconciling bank statements and maintaining customer accounts to a high standard.
What you'll need
- Previous experience working within an accounts receivable or credit control function, with a strong understanding of core credit control principles and best practices.
- Experience using accounting software or ERP systems and strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, enabling you to analyse data, prepare reports and manage financial information accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy, supported by strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Confidence in managing workloads effectively and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.
- A professional and confident communication style with the ability to negotiate, influence and build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Strong problem-solving and dispute-resolution skills, so that you can handle challenges proactively and achieve positive outcomes.
