Are you keen to work, learn and develop in the process commissioning of new water supply processes and equipment? Join us and work as part of the AMP8 Delivery Programme through the full project lifecycle, from design to construction, commissioning and handover of multimillion-pound Water Infrastructure projects across the South West.

Initially, this is a development role; you will be working closely with experienced Commissioning Engineers as part of the project team. This will allow you to learn how water treatment sites operate, how infrastructure projects are executed, how new assets are designed and how new assets are tested and commissioned.

Typical daily tasks might involve the following:

  • Generation of commissioning plans, which define how the new assets will be tested and brought online.
  • Liaising with Operations and Civil construction teams to risk assess any project work, and its impact on the existing treatment process.
  • Testing of new process equipment to confirm it works correctly, safely and meets client requirements.
  • Analysis of analytical data from process water samples to confirm the site is operating as required.
  • Training and handover of new assets to our operations team.

As you develop and grow, you will take on more of your own work and responsibility, with a view to becoming a Commissioning Engineer. The nature of commissioning on-site means the role is more hands-on and site-based.

You will be part of a small, specialist team, so you must have good personal skills, coupled with a positive attitude and the drive to succeed. You'll have:

  • Experience of water treatment processes and/or experience of onsite commissioning.
  • A keen interest in becoming a commissioning engineer.
  • A proactive engineering mindset with an enthusiasm for understanding technical processes and problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to translate technical issues into simple terms.
  • Good IT skills, with an ability to author and review technical documentation.

Existing qualifications for working in electrical cabinets are advantageous. Training in all relevant processes will be provided to equip you with the knowledge to help you develop your career in the field of water commissioning.

What you'll receive:

  • A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
  • Career progression and professional development opportunities.
  • 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
  • The opportunity to sell up to five days of holiday every year.
  • The opportunity to buy up to ten days of holiday each year (subject to conditions).
  • A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
  • Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
  • The opportunity to lease a new electric car through salary sacrifice (subject to conditions).
  • Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
  • One paid volunteering day each year.
  • Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
  • Access to an interactive health and wellbeing platform.
  • Support from trained mental health first aiders.
  • A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone who is successfully recruited by us.
