We have an exciting opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to join our ever-expanding IoT team. If you have a passion for DevOps and love being in and around IoT, advanced data technologies and software development, then this role will be ideal for you!
What you'll do
As the IoT DevOps Engineer, you will develop innovative IoT solutions and solve technical problems relating to the IoT system and its data. In this position, you will provide DevOps services within the business for IoT tools, including existing telemetry systems and their integration into IoT cloud solutions. You may also be involved with MLOps and Software Development if and where relevant.
You will work in conjunction with a team of IoT specialists (the βIoT Labβ), delivering proof-of-value agile experiments, as well as larger projects and the maintenance of the live system in the cloud. Our small unit specialises in assisting Wessex Water and YTL Group with insights into our data, with an emphasis on prediction and prevention, and by giving the business as usual and management extra insights from the data collected. We're looking for a like-minded technical enthusiast who likes to contribute, mentor and shape this section of our unit.
What you'll need
We are looking for sound technical DevOps experience in Azure and have engaging interpersonal skills. Alongside this, you will have experience in:
- Azure services and IoT infrastructure across all aspects, including performance, stability, resiliency, availability and security
- Azure data services, monitoring, and networking
- Coding (C# and Python are preferable)
- Applications and their integrations
- The complete software development lifecycle (designing, developing, deploying and debugging software services and applications)
- IoT architectures, from devices to cloud (devices, gateways, connectivity, cloud, analytics and visualisation), preferably in IIoT environments.
You will also have the following technical skills:
- Understanding of Quality Attributes, such as: performance, security, availability, utility, consistency, durable, reliable, efficiency, modifiable, portable, reusable, measurable, auditable, testable, etc.
- Understanding of data lifecycle, including definition, collection, movement, storage, processing, distribution, caching, deletion and archiving
- Microsoft Fabric (would be an advantage)
- MLOps (would be an advantage)
- Operating in a matrix-managed environment (preferable).
