We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and confident Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Working Site Supervisor to join us. The Working M&E Site Supervisor will manage a small electrical and mechanical site team to support the delivery of the new and innovative Smart Waters schemes across the Wessex Water region. The role involves supervising and assisting with the electrical installation and commissioning of new water quality instruments, ensuring all projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
What you’ll do
This is a fast-paced and hands-on role working closely with the Site Manager to support the delivery of Smart Waters projects. You’ll be travelling between multiple remote sites daily, and to support you, we will provide a company van, along with the tools and training you need to do the job safely and effectively. You’ll be overseeing the day-to-day health and safety of a small electrical and mechanical team, ensuring safe working practices are consistently maintained. You’ll play a key role in the installation, testing and commissioning of new water quality instruments and associated equipment. You’ll also carry out routine maintenance and calibrations on water quality monitors to ensure they continue to operate reliably.
What you’ll need
- Ideally, you’ll have solid, hands‑on experience in electrical installation and commissioning within the water sector.
- The role requires confidence in fault‑finding and diagnosing issues, so you’ll bring strong technical expertise, excellent problem‑solving skills, and a keen eye for detail.
- You’ll also have an electrical NVQ level 3.
- Hold a Black ECS Management Card.
- Have strong knowledge of construction regulations and legislation.
- Have excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Have the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Have strong problem‑solving skills and good attention to detail.
- Have strong IT and organisational skills.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
