An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Programme Buying to join the YTL UK 'Procurement Hub' at YTL Construction. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will oversee programme procurement for all YTL Infrastructure activities.
About the Role
This role involves implementing a centralised programme buying approach to support the capital delivery programme, mainly within YTL Infrastructure, focusing on AMP8 and beyond for Wessex Water. You will work closely with delivery and commercial teams to develop procurement strategies that ensure value and meet challenging timescales. A transformational mindset is essential to introduce new procurement approaches across the hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement programme procurement strategies for multiple projects.
- Procure critical products and equipment for the capital programme.
- Collaborate with commercial and delivery teams to improve procurement outcomes.
- Lead and develop your team across different levels.
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive procurement experience, particularly in construction, automotive, energy, or similar sectors with large-scale capital projects.
- Leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills to drive cultural change.
- Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in a centralised procurement hub environment, with expertise in programme buying, contract negotiations, and critical asset procurement.
- Experience working with design and build contractors or large subcontractors is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt procurement approaches for infrastructure investment projects and communicate effectively at all levels.
