In this role, you will be a trusted authority for electrical design delivery, providing guidance and solutions to complex technical challenges. You will influence major projects from concept through to construction, ensuring innovative, sustainable and best-value solutions that are safe to build, operate and maintain.
You will also:
- Lead in electrical design across water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment works, pumping stations and network assets.
- Contribute to the strategic technical direction and standards for our Electrical Engineering team.
- Develop and evaluate options to identify the least whole-life cost solutions.
- Review and approve technical reports, calculations, designs and drawings for compliance with technical, health and safety, legal and environmental standards.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentoring to support developing Engineers.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure scope alignment and integrated delivery.
- Liaise with site managers on technical issues and ensure design proceeds in line with budgetary and programme constraints.
- Provide technical leadership on industrial power system design, including specification of distribution substation and standby generation equipment (HV and LV systems).
You will be a proactive, solutions-focused engineer with a passion for excellence and innovation. You will also bring:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status.
- An in-depth understanding of BS 7671:2018.
- Experience working with contractors, clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- A positive, adaptable mindset and strong team ethics.
