As part of our clients expanding production capabilities, this role is necessary to support the day-to-day operations within the warehouse and logistics area of the Technology and Manufacturing Centre. This hands-on role involves receiving incoming goods, unpacking and verifying deliveries, preparing components for kitting, and packing items for shipment. You'll manage goods movements using the inventory system, operate forklifts and pallet trucks (training provided if needed), and ensure materials are stored and handled safely and efficiently.
You will also support waste handling, maintain tidy and organised workspaces, and contribute to inventory checks. Collaboration with the final assembly and test teams will be a regular part of the role, helping to ensure timely supply of components and a smooth workflow across departments. Our client uses advanced technology to produce their world class hydraulic valves using components sourced from around the world and delivering to customers internationally.
Key Responsibilities- Managing inventory levels for outsourced components, WIP and finished goods through regular stock checks.
- Transferring goods between adjacent factory units.
- Organising outside processes with sub-contract suppliers, including raising purchase orders and organising component logistics.
- Packing products to ship to customers, preparation of shipping documentation and organisation and tracking of customs.
- Carrying out final stage assemblies, inspecting components before shipping and laser marking specifications on valve components.
- Improving processes to improve efficiencies in production.
- Interacting with MRP system and capturing data to pass on to subsequent operations.
- 3 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Great computer literacy.
- Adherence to Health and Safety Policies.
- Good communication skills.
- Exceptional organisation and time management skills.
